Project 1 – Line,Shape, Space
Project 1.
I did a bus with lines behind it to describe its motion. Put contour on the bus too. I’ve put texture on the trees, Hatching on some birds and trees to denote that they are on the “night side”. I thought of the day and night for the negative and positive. I put together circles to make the clouds.

Question 2 – line. How is line used in the composition? Contour, types of line, emotion or texture effectively used (describe where and how within the composition).
A. Lines show what direction the bus is going, it shows, movement for the bus, what direction the bus birds,and light is moving. The road represents implied lines.
Question 4 – Personal Perspective – Concept
How effectively was the concept of “transportation” explored?
Good Job on topic as the night ends a new day begins, altough the movement implied by the lines on bus sugest its movent to the day perhaps posioting the bus more to the left instead of centered to compliment the composition and give it more dynamism.

Question #3 Shape
How is shape used in the compostion? 2-d, 3-d, grouping of shapes, tc.
Shape is used in this composition with the stars shaped around the moon and circles made to form the clouds. Shapes were also used in the bus for the windows and door.
Question 1 – Space
How is space used in the composition?
The large bus and street at the bottom give the impression that it is closer than the smaller birds and clouds at the top that appear to be farther away. Also the negative space is used efficiently to create a focus on the important items of the piece and the difference in shade and height of the clouds and birds show that they are at different distances.

What do you think of the quality of the design and composition? Do you believe the composition was well thought out, reasons? Were the elements of space, line and shape effectively used (yes and no not acceptable answers)?

The composition was very well thought-out and used the space, line and shape elements effectively. I like the simple and clean approach to the overall design.
The sun, moon and stars have less detail than the birds and trees, which naturally sends the sky elements farther away visually.
The various lines – actual line with the arrow, implied line with the trees and the imaginary line with the birds – all work together to imply movement, along with the actual movement lines behind the bus.
The different shapes chosen work well together and are easily recognizable as the objects they’re supposed to portray. The gradient sky ties the day and night elements together well.
My only suggestion for this to bring up the quality is to give the bus more detail. Most other objects have some kind of shading, except for the sun, moon and stars which works for implying distance.
